My name is Steven Washington, I am a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. My ability to write my first publication gave me the understanding that the more knowledge that you have the more power you will be able to manifest. Shakespeare In Little Rock is a rendition of Shakespeare In Harlem by Langston Hughes, he is the reason why I push so hard, understanding that everyone told him no and he still found a different way to get his voice out. My first publication is my motivation to keep going no matter what is in your way, Fall 2017 I have registered to finish my last semester to obtain my Associates of Arts in General Studies at Arkansas Baptist College. This is my tuition to continue my tenure at my first HBCU but to also climb the ladder to achieve my PH. D in psychology at another HBCU of my choosing after Spring 2018. Not only to benefit me, I wanted to reach back into my community and give other the opportunity to achieve their dreams, 25% of the proceeds of Shakespeare In Little Rock will go in to a scholarship named after my Senior Class English teacher.

The Veronica Paxton Shakespeare In Little Rock Scholarship will allow 5 Students from Little Rock Central High School, Arkansas Baptist College and Philander Smith College to receive the 25% of the proceeds after splitting it evenly with each individual. The more money Shakespeare In Little Rock earns the more money will be issued to the 15 individuals, the Scholarship will be available Spring 2018 to start applying.
